Rev. H.T Calhoun
Rev. H.T Calhoun
of Mt. Zion-
Rev. Hiawatha T. Calhoun was born and raised in Buttonwillow, CA. He is celebrating 39 years of marriage to his wife Linda Calhoun. The couple have three sons, Timothy, Jason, and Mark along with 5 grandchildren. Rev. H. T. Calhoun was called to preach when he was 13 years old. He has been the pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church for the past 26 years. He is a US Army veteran and has worked as a city and school bus driver for years before retiring. His favorite scripture is Psalm 27, the first verse of which is “ The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Rev. H. T. Calhoun was given an honorary Doctorate Degree by Summit College in Bakersfield California in May 2008. He is currently and has been moderator of the San Joaquin District’s Missionary Baptist Convention for 8 years ago, and is currently President At Large with California State Missionary Baptist Convention. Rev. H. T. Calhoun has been part of Faith In Action Kern County for approximately 3 years. He feels that when the pastor of any church gets involved with the Faith In Action organization, the organization will become a valuable asset to their church.
