Economic Security
Analysis In the absence of a parallel process of defensive and offensive economic strategies, the goals of long-term individual wealth creation, consumer protection, and economic social change are not sustainable.

Faith In Action's Response:
Faith In Action's member churches are working with public officials and business leaders to explore how to build new wealth within underserved, low-income neighborhoods. We believe that all
community stakeholders must work together to create safe and thriving
neighborhoods for all families. As
people of faith, we believe it is our responsibility to lead the way toward
strengthening all families holistically- addressing the spiritual, social,
physical, and economic needs of every person.
Many churches in our
community have had long track records supporting families- financially and
otherwise- during good and bad economic times. But, we know that this is not enough. Many families struggle to secure quality affordable housing, maintain
decent employment, and ensure the safety of their neighborhoods.
We must work with city and
corporate partners to ensure economic and community revitalization efforts that
benefit the people living within the community.
Now is the time- more
than any other time before- for our federal, state, and local officials;
community leaders; and business leaders to work toward policies, projects, and
investments that:
- creates family-supporting jobs,
- invests in workforce development
- reinvests in transportation infrastructure that
benefit working low-income and moderate income families,
- improves the security and safety of the
community,
- supports youth development, and
- revives the local economy.
