Restorative Justice

Our restorative justice work is about making sure there are fair policing policies that protect the residents of Kern County and create greater transparency between local law enforcement and the community.

Immigration

Through the immigration campaign, we work to make sure that all people that are eligible have the right to become a U.S. citizen, and a clear pathway to citizenship.

Education

To create a better future for our kids in Kern County, we organize to end the school to prison pipeline that has been fed by the lack of proper education policies throughout the state.

Testimonials

The passionate work we do is the reason I stand firm on the Biblical principals expressed in Ephesians 6:12: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

‘I am, because we are.’ This old axiom is a guiding principal in my modus operandi. Humans cannot function without society; therefore it is a must in my eyes to improve the community in which we live.

marcus-duarte-smith-testimonial_442x442

Faith in Action puts me in relationship with people of different faiths as we come together to improve life in our community. We do research and take action to eliminate suffering, especially for those in the greatest need.
